We recently acquired a high precision marking laser for our products, you might have seen pictures of our first experiements. So far, we love the results !
This kind of equipment creates durable marking on different materials (anodised aluminium, stainless steel, certain plastics and woods) for different results and with very high speed. Adjusting the laser beam power and the impulse frequency, we can either remove a very thin layer of material (engraving), or change the chemical nature of a surface, of a pigment on a surface treatment (etching).
This results in a permanent marking, that resists to heat, water and chemicals as well. We will first use it for the information that were printed on stickers: serial number, performance, technical diagrams etc. The last production of our MINI-ÉCLIPSE pulleys has been marked to reduce further the use of plastic (labels). Later on, we intend to use that interesting technology for other products, when possible (material, practical aspects). The newly marked ÉCLIPSE blocks will soon be also available.
